The Hotel: Grand Hotel, once the adorable private residence of the British Governor, Sir Edward Barnes and the hill country's premier hotel since 1891, consists of 154 guest rooms, the „Barnes Hall” Main Restaurant, 'Barnes hall' main restaurant, 'Magnolia' Coffee shop, 'Super Club' fine dining, the acclaimed 'Grand Indian' authentic Indian Restaurant and the best known English-style Bar in the hills, amongst many of her unique features.
The Hotel was officially declared a 'National Heritage” in the year 2007 and is considered as one of the best Colonial Hotels in the region by international travel circles.
The candidates should be responsible to assist the Executive Chef in the efficient operation of culinary areas to continually support the kitchen services to the Hotel Guests and Associates.
Duties and Responsibilities- General:
* Maintain the Hotels Cuisine concepts and standards for food preparation and presentation
* good knowledge of classic French, Nouvelle, Fusion and International cuisine
* Well groomed and presented with a knowledge in English, both written and spoken.
The candidates should possess at least 3yrs working experience in a star class hotel or fine dinning restaurant. Foreign exposure will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to Central & Uva Province Residents.
