Director General- National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency
The National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency, a Public Corporation established by Act No. 54 of 1981, under the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is the principal national institute charged with the responsibility of carrying out and coordinating research, development and management activities on the subject of aquatic resources. The agency is engaged in multidisciplinary research and development program in collaboration with local and foreign agencies for exploration and exploitation of living and non living resources in the extensive inland waters, exclusive economic zone and in deep sea areas.
Applications for the above post are invited from suitably qualified persons preferably having over 15yrs of relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a scientific background and/or experience in the management of scientific and technical institutions.
The Director General of the Agency is responsible for the performance of the administrative functions of the governing Board of the agency.
The Director General shall be charged with exercise and performance of such powers and duties of the Board as the Board may delegate to him.
Appointment to the Post of Director General would be on a contractual basis for a period of time mutually agreed upon. Salary and other terms and conditions of employment and other benefits are negotiable, but the salary will not be less than Rs.30,000/= per month. The salary is at present exempt from income tax.
